Filing Unemployment In Oklahoma
Video Transcribed: My name is Earl Lawson. I’m an attorney in Oklahoma. I am working with Oklahoma Unemployment Experts, and I’ve been getting a lot of questions here lately on how do I file my unemployment, so I’m going to answer that really quick.
Once you’ve terminated from your job… I use my hands a lot so don’t worry about that. First step is to contact Oklahoma Employment Security Commission and file for your unemployment. Now, you’re asking how do you get a hold of them? They’ve got two ways of getting a hold of them. You can either call them or you can contact their internet. I would definitely use the internet myself if I was you.
Just in case there’s no internet available where you’re at, I’m going to give you the telephone numbers first. If you live in the Oklahoma City area, their telephone number is 405 545-1500. If you live outside the Oklahoma City area, it’s 1-800 555-1554. That’s the toll free number.
Now, I’m going to give you the website that you go to to file. And I highly recommend going to the website. Now the website is www.unemployment.ok.gov. This is the best way to get a hold of them on the website, and the reason I say go to the website to file this is because whenever you call them you have to wait at least 45 minutes to talk to them, to a real live person.
And that gets frustrating. If you’ve got a lot of patience, you don’t mind hanging on waiting and listening to all this stuff they say in between like this and this and this and that and that and that, then go ahead and call them. They’ll be glad to take your phone call after you wait on line about 45 minutes. You go to the internet, type in your information, then somebody will call you back later on and get hold of pertinent information once they contact your employer.
So I would highly recommend going to the internet. Internet’s the best way to do it. Anyway, that’s how you file for your unemployment. There you go.
Now, we’ll be conducting a lot of other inquiries about Oklahoma Employment Security Commission and how to file and when to file and different aspects of your unemployment benefits. That’s what I do.
If you got any other questions or if you’ve got questions on how to file for your unemployment benefits, be sure to write them on my website. My email is oklahomaunemploymentexperts@gmail.com.
