Mr. Lawson secures client’s deserved benefits.
Video Transcribed: Hi, my name is Krystie. I’m a paralegal and I work with Mr. Earl Lawson and we are with Oklahoma Unemployment Experts and I got in the mail. So I want to discuss the case with you before we open and see what the Unemployment Commission’s decision was. This case is a little bit different. Our client was already granted benefits and then she gets a letter in the mail stating the imported decided to fight it and she called us and she was really confused and they were stating that she couldn’t work with her wrist, like a wrist little thing. It was just a little wraparound wrist thing, the doctor recently released her, it was for her arthritis. So that was the employer’s reasoning for termination.
So Mr. Lawson and I looked at the case and we determined that what the doctors know in her capability of working, she was fine. She was more than able to go to work. The bizarre thing of all this, the employer asked her to come back and it was just a crazy situation. So during the appeal process, our argument was, “Look, they know she can work and the employer was stating, ‘Well, she didn’t give us the doctor’s notes,” even though she had proof of the doctor’s note.
She made the extra copies and dated it so that was more, that was a great positive thing for us on our case. That was a little bit about the case. So I want to go ahead and open the envelope and see what the client got. Are we ready? Let’s do it.
Client got benefits. Yay. So this is the weird thing. They just keep continuing for her because she was already getting them and then they stopped for until we had the appeal. So what will happen is nothing will change. She’ll keep getting them until further notice until A, the funds run out, or B, she finds a new job. So that’s great for our client. I will go call our client, let the client know and they’ll be happy. So again, if you have any questions, please contact Krystie or Mr. Lawson at 918-922-2800. Thanks guys. Appreciate it.
