Submit Your Unemployment Questions to The Unemployment Expert
Video Transcribed: Unemployment Attorney Earl Lawson with the Oklahoma Unemployment Experts. Got another interesting question. They just keep coming in, and I’m going to try and answer them as much as I can.
The question is … Let me see what it says. “Should I tell my friends if I’m collecting unemployment?” That’s strictly a personal decision. If you want to tell them you’re collecting unemployment benefits, there’s nothing wrong with collecting unemployment benefits.
It’s a bill that was passed in order to protect the person that’s not working, and they had been working for another employer, and they deserve it. So if you want to tell your friends that you’re collecting unemployment, don’t feel shame about it. It’s okay because it’s part of your rights.
But it’s a personal decision. If you don’t want to tell them, you don’t have to them. And there’s nobody else going to tell them for you. So if you want to tell them, go ahead. I don’t see any reason why you shouldn’t.
You got some more questions, send them to me, and I will answer them just as quickly as I can on video. So tune into this website, and we will get back with you to answer your question. I’m not going to tell you who submits these questions because it’s a little bit of a privacy thing.
So you just do what you need to do. Tell them, don’t tell them. You could even put it on a billboard if you could afford to do that, but it’s entirely up to you.
And we’ll talk at you later. Keep sending those questions in. Thank you.
