If you have unemployment, make sure you apply for at least 3 jobs every week.
It’s me again, the unemployment expert. I’m showing you the Tulsa World, which is employment. This has job ads. Now don’t want commission, not ESC makes a requirement for filing unemployment disability claims.
Whenever you get fired, you have got to immediately start looking for a job or they don’t want to give you any money for some reason. Now you’ve got to make three contacts a week. Three contacts a week is not a whole lot. You can tell of go through there and call everyone of these. Probably most of these you will not be qualified for and they’ll turn you down, but you still got to contact them. I don’t know why. There’s not too many in the paper anymore, but if you go online like one is www.indeed, I-N-D-E-E-D.com. They’ve got all kinds of listings and you can format how you want it discovered.
I know. It’s amazing and they’ve got lots of jobs and you make those phone calls. Now. If you don’t make these contacts a week, guess what? Unemployment security commission’s going to turn you down. They’re not going to give you any money for you to sit home, eating potato chips, watch ball games, whatever you want to do.
Now, if you want to sit home, watch television, you can make the phone calls, make contacts that way. But you do have to make at least three of them during the week and report them on Sunday, not a biggie, but if they run an audit on you and contact these supposedly employers that they, that you’ve contacted and they find that you didn’t make those contacts, guess what?
They take all your money away that they give you. I know it’s not fair, but that’s the way it happens and it’s the requirement. So if you want to keep receiving your unemployment benefits, if you receive them, then make your contacts. It’s not rocket science.
So look for a job, at least three of them a week. Not hard. You can do it sitting on your couch, eating potato chips, watching the ball game, doing whatever you want to do. Just make sure you make those contacts. All right? See you on the next one. We’ll talk about how long you get these benefits if you’re approved on the next one.
