How To Get Your Unemployment If Your Employer Changed Your Contract in Oklahoma.

By Staff

The Oklahoma Unemployment Expert has helped many clients win situations like this.

Video Transcribed:  I’m here to help you out, give you another scenario in which you might fall into that you deserve your unemployment benefits, and your employer says you don’t get them. And the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission agrees with your employer. That’s when you need to appeal your decision.

Now, in this particular instance, let’s just say that your employer gets mad at you, and offers you a job. Says, “I’m not going to lay you off. I’m not going to fire you. I’m going to send you to Dallas to work.” Now, you don’t have to go to Dallas. But you still get unemployment benefits. Your employer says, “I offered them another way to go to where I didn’t fire him.” And anyway, they might as well fire you, because you don’t have anything down there.

The cost of living is way too high. For whatever reason, it has changed your contract with them. You didn’t agree to relocate when you were hired in there. So they just can’t do that kind of stuff and deny you unemployment at the same time. They owe you unemployment.

Now what if they just cut your hours back? Now if they cut your hours back, you was barely scraping by on what they were paying you anyway. There again, you deserve your unemployment benefits because when you were hired in, you hired in at a wage that you could live at, or at least halfway live at. And they cut back to the point where well, you can’t live on it anymore. You can’t get groceries. You have to make a decision whether to drive to work or buy groceries for your kids. You know, whatever. They can’t do that. They’ve got to pay you at least a living wage. Or you have to start looking for another job.

And that’s what the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission does. They pay you money whenever you know you’re without work. And you’re without work due to something that’s not your fault. So if you’re laid off and if you employer cuts your hours way back, cuts your salary back to what they were before anything happened, you got a new family, whatever.
