If you lose your unemployment appeal, you should hire a qualified unemployment attorney.
Video Transcribed: Good morning. Mr Lawson. I’m the attorney that you’ll be dealing with if you have to deny your unemployment appeal. Now, you get your decisions in the mail. And, you look at it and say, “Oh, they’ve turned me down. They shouldn’t have.” And, it’s a good possibility they shouldn’t have. So, you’ve got to appeal that.
I would suggest you get an attorney at that time. But, you don’t have to have an attorney. You can do this on your own. You can call and tell them, “I want to appeal this decision.” And, then, they go to their board and they say, “Okay, this guy wants to appeal it. Let’s give him hearing date.”
Then you go to telephone hearing. And, then, you have your case heard. And, they’ll decide whether or not they were mistaken or not. Most of the time whenever they take in your claim, it’s just an intake person. And, a lot of times they get their information wrong. So, you need to take it to an appeal. I would take it to appeal even if you think they were right. Couldn’t hurt. Doesn’t cost you anything. Now, if it was me, I would hire an attorney.
Attorneys have been through these several times. And, they know what they’re doing and they have a good track record of getting appeals. One, in your case, that way you get your money. You say, I can’t afford an attorney. Call. We will let you know if you can’t or not. So, look forward to hearing from you. And, I hope all of your claims are approved. Thank you.
